Half five this morning and just one squid fisherman was out.

Off at six for our hop to Gili Bodo using the local girl as a marker buoy.

Haze all morning proved difficult on the view front...........

Out at sea things needed a bit of dodgem activity with the FADS.

Rounding Gili Bodo we saw an incredible anchorage. We had to dogleg between two easily visible reefs (a gap of 120 metres) and settle amongst Coomera, Matilda, Afar VI and Incognita.

Uninhabited except for a group of monkeys.

We headed for the gap and anchored in sand. The silence was incredible.

Time for a snorkel. Swimming off the back of Beez Neez who had settled back with five metres below, we soon crossed the sand to find the first of the massive reef. The colours were not spectacular but the visibility certainly was. I spent two hours bimbling about in the warm water with so much to see. Bruce and Deb (Matilda) picked us up at half five to pop the few feet (had we not been friends we would not be this close but it was so much fun to rib one another – the old saying “a whole ocean to park and some boat almost touching”) over to Catherine and John on Afar VI. What a fun evening talking about Komodo dragons, orang utans, Bali and general chatter.
How lucky we are, so much so we are going to stay another day in this tranquil and heavenly spot.
