To Refuge
Bay
It was very strange to settle last
night with no cockatoos squabbling, but at least we’ll
have no more chewing up the mast....... We woke this morning to Katy
Kookaburra giving it stacks. It was low tide which meant we had a little beach in our bay. Bear had read on our buoy that
if we got caught staying for more than one night, the fine would be $3300, time
to move then as we have been on this one for two nights.....maybe mid week with so few boats about we would be fine
but........on we go.
As we were just about to leave we had
ringside seats, watching this greedy little monkey trying to swallow a fish way too big to be called a snack. Five minutes of
tossing it into the air, dropping and re-positioning, then finally gulping it
down, in what can only be described as an uncomfortable meal.
We still cannot get over the scenery, dominated by sandstone and trees.
The colours of the
rocks is simply amazing.
Out into the main
fairway, we could see a few buoys dotted around the edges.
Around a
corner.
A definite maybe, no crowds and a lovely little beach.
The end of Refuge Bay with just two
yachts and loads of buoys [many belonging to
individual yachts and various yacht clubs]. Just to be sure Bear jumped into
Baby Beez and asked advice of one of our neighbours. He returned to say mid week no problems, help ourselves. Buoy chosen near the waterfall – to the right of the left-hand
yacht..........really........
A chap enjoying the
sun.
We managed our colossal journey of two and a half miles......... to Refuge
Bay.
Next to us the
waterfall looks tiny, apparently, we can climb
up the left-hand-side to a pretty little freshwater pool, later then.
ALL IN ALL SO
PEACEFUL
VERY PRETTY WITH JUST A HANDFUL OF BOATS ABOUT
