Jim & Christine Lister
Mon 23 May 2011 01:21
Our position at 8.00am was 04.41.26S 103.08.04W COG 260 SOG 5k wind 15k waves 3meters. Yesterday just went by reading, sleeping and eating. The wind picked up a bit and the sails stopped flapping around and we were making 4-5k until 1.00am when squalls arrived and we had 20+k wind big seas and weather helm as we had full sails! I was aching and hadn't slept as it had been rough for some hours and got no further sleep either, nor did Jim. But today we have cracked on at 6-7k being thrown around mostly sailing just on the main as the wind is all over the place and so are we due to being pushed and shoved by the waves. Its now 5.30pm and we still have 18-20k wind, haven't put a reef in yet but will before dark.
Our guest in the dingy was evicted yesterday and looked happier in the water and we said sorry and waved him goodbye as we could do no more for him. We were able to make water yesterday so have a full tank but too rough today to bother with a wash let alone a shower. Never mind we still love each other even if we do niff a bit.
We'll see what tomorrow brings!
