Well its here. Big day. Feels like setting off on holiday. Checked the weather: alls well except for hurricane Gordon but he's due to fade away. Ice cream maker packed. Bread maker packed. On board chef briefed. Wines being delivered this afternoon: Branscot Bay 2010...travels well. Aft water tank filled with gin. Just need some chickens and a cow and it will all feel normal. Might cover the teak decks with astro-turf and grow strawberries for the pimms. First leg Gosport to Lisbon leaving tonight. Due Lisbon by Friday evening then straight off to Gib for a couple of weeks becoming reacquainted with Biancas Bar. That's the theory anyway. Three sailing firemen out of 7 of us. Unlikely to catch fire I suppose. One musician For guitar strumming - bit like the owl and the pussycat. No wind forecast so loaded up with jerry cans (can I say that ?). More like a steam ship than a sailing boat. Hope no one smokes or it will be Vesuvius all over again. Fishing rod is poised. Had it for 3 years and never caught a thing... I lie... A speedboat. Looking forward to a mid Biscay swim if calm. Must remember to send crew in first to check for nasties ... I note the most northern confirmed Great White siting was in the Bay of Biscay. Might just watch crew swim.
Lotsa books loaded on the Kindle. Educational stuff: Fifty Shades of Grey and Game of Thrones.
Well that's it till later
