Most of the rally fleet have departed to Namrole on Buru Island but Afar VI and Bamboozle both elected to stay for a few extra days in Banda. After the hubub of the last week the waterfront suddenly looks and feels very different.

Our reason for staying was a few more days diving in Banda and then we will be heading straight to Hoga Island in Wakatobi.  Here is Eddy, owner and the dive master at Dive Banda just along the harbour wall from where we are moored giving us our dive briefing before heading out.

It is very hard to look good underwater, especially when the wife has just been at your barnet with the kitchen scissors!

We had a great sail straight to Wakatobi and have the place pretty much to ourselves.  The rest of the rally fleet has gone to the town of Wanci Wanci where they have received a very warm welcome but we really fancied some fresh air and the chance to jump straight over the side to cool off rather than another busy Indonesian town.  This is the beach on the west side of Hoga Island, home to the low key but extremely friendly Hoga Island Dive Resort with whom we have done a couple more days of diving.

Negotiating for lobsters with some local lads ….an old dive mask is a valuable commodity in this part of the world.
