So our night got worse, around 8.30ish, had dinner and started to watch a
film King Arthur, wind picked up boat rocked hard from side to side suddenly
we are in 30 - 40 knot winds one point getting up to 51.5 knots waves 4-5
meters high, howling wind with us shouting at each other to be heard while
trying to keep our balance and reduce, change configuration and/or put
sails away all while the Saxons and the Romans were slaughtering each other
in the name of freedom at the loudest volume ever at the same time rescuing
our the fishing net with our pelican and the fishing rod form being taken
against their wishes by the relentless winds and being thrown into the
unforgiving seas. Both are now safe and sound tuck up in the forward cabin.
In the background the iPod is playing Cliff Richards Mistletoe & wine - go
figure. As for us well one gets to sleep for an hour or so the other is
letting the world know that this is not what she signed up for:) too much
excitement for one day I think. Boat speed if anyone is interested is around
5 knots. Time is now 01.15, Wind 33 knots, sea state 4-5 meters in for a fun
night I think. Kady you would love this sweets :)

Update
Time 2pm wind 36 knots, waves F...... Massive 6 metre(ish) looming down on
the stern (back) of the boat, sight for sore eyes Paul getting up from his
bed (sofa) going up on deck to change course naked except for his life
jacket safety first :) back to bed and asleep in seconds. My turn soon!

Paul got around an hour another change of direction meant more sail changes,
I put my head down an hour later leaving Paul trying to sort a plan woke up
to Paul going I think we are in unchartered waters, WHAT shouts me as I wake
with a aahhhh soon realise we are ok, woke up to daylight makes a difference
but conditions still the same.

Once around the corner of the Columbia coast things got better and we
arrived safe and sound, in need of a cold beer (water in my case) very tied
(polite aren't I :)) getting the boat sorted, going to customs and
immigration then out for dinner.

Notified Gladis (our agent we were 1 hour away) arrive in the Marina onlt to
find out we were in a private marine and were not expected, strange we told
Gladis who apparently hadn't told anyone else :( but didn't seems too much
of a problem as they let us say :) Gladis took our passports ( em is this a
good idea we wondered) off to customs and immigration and told we would get
them back tomorrow (oh err ) 4 hours later she's back, we have to go with
her as they want to see us, get there the guards won't let us in, after a
discussion in Spanish in we go. More Spanish chat and questions that we
don't understand amongst them all, do we want a shore pass or passport
stamps? What's the difference we opt for stamp, we are leaving Monday
morning but no wait we are not allowed and will possible be allowed to leave
on Monday evening or Tuesday. Very strange we think!!! Oh well lets eat:)

Hopefully are trip won't end in Columbia :) and we will be able to continue
to our next destination

Only to start again in 2 day's time, we will be leaving here Sunday evening/
Monday morning for the San Blass islands ( 2 days I think). Not sure I'm
looking forward to that as you need to have someone up the mast guiding your
around the islands and the other steering, don't think there's a good choice
to be had. Once there its snorkelling/diving and chatting to the locals
(won't see much of Paul for the week.

Love you all
