Apologies for the late posting of the last update which got stuck in our outbox!

Anyway, were now anchored in a bay just outside Panama city having got through the second day of the locks with no problem. I believe one or two of you saw us through the Panama web cam, wicked??

Following a few helping us through I swapped back onto ‘Spent’ to make up their numbers whilst Trish stayed to look after Babe. So Trish out partying with the other abandoned yacht wives whilst poor old me helping out and doing a second transit.

No worries, this time round I was on foredeck line handling, so plenty of chill time…….

·         After the first day moored up on a buoy next to a French boat. Having a drink and next thing I saw was the French woman prancing around in her knickers flashing her camel toe!

·         On the way through the locks the Panamanian line handler on the wall dropped the line causing the raft of 3 yachts to drift onto the other side wall so lots of drama & shouting. Advisor on our boat said the guy would be instantly dismissed and it appeared to be the case L

·         There’s a viewing platform building on the exit from the second set of locks, for which we (Spent) were in the first raft and nearest to the viewing building, so managed to get the spectators to shout out when I called out each country – of course ‘America’ got the loudest response by far!

We’ve had a quick look round the old part of the city, however to get to it taxi goes through depraved area with the drivers (on two occasions) saying it’s the area where the mafia operates (sex and drugs) and points out various buildings where there have been machine gun fights and another where bandits often operate / shoot from the roof tops in the evening!! Very nice!!

Not all bad though, the old town is being renovated and has the potential for being beautiful with a new marina area also being built. The new town also looks like it could be fun………for which I’m out with a few of the lads tonight with a Panamanian ‘advisor’ who has promised to show us all the best panama nightlife has to offer – can’t wait – my world survey continues!

Other update is that we now have a member of crew, Nelius (sort for Cornelius) to help out with the next couple of long crossings [Panama -> Galapagos and Galapagos -> Marquises]. He’s a 19 year old SA previously with one of the other Oysters – I was really after a tasty fit female, but fortunately Nelius scrubs up well in his sexy little uniform – I’ll sort a picky out!

After a few days of being in the dark we have now managed to get a good internet connection locally, so will sort through photo’s etc and do a mass picky update in the next day or two
