It's been a beautiful and cloudless day and almost completely calm so still motoring slowly. A bit before breakfast while James was still off-watch an Orca (aka killer whale) came to have a look at the boat but on waking we stopped the engine and had a swim anyway in cobalt blue sea. After that motored on again. We saw loads more turtles and put up the new bimini but otherwise lazed around.

It's now nearly 6pm and we have 55 miles to go to the waypoint just to the SE of the island of Porto Santo where we will clear in to the Maderia group. That means arriving around 4:30 am which is a bit too early, we'd prefer to wait 'til daybreak, so we will either throttle back (but we're already only doing 1400 rpm which is around our most economical speed) or if the wind picks enough that the sails won't just be slatting from side to side in the swells (we need maybe 6 knts of true wind for that, ie F2) we'll sail through the night.

Hopefully next post will be from a port cafe via their WiFi and we can post pictures.
