Saturday 23rd Jan,following 72 hours on the Island of St Helena we left for Salvador Brazil, 1750 N.M from St Helena.
During our stay in James Town St.Helena we visited the Napoleonic sites including , The Briars Pavillon where he stayed for 7 weeks as his accommodation at Longwood House needed major conversion from its structure as a barn.He was 46 six years old when he arrived on 15th August 1815, he remained exiled here until his death five and half years later, 5th of may 1821. His tomb is near Longwood house, but his remains have been returned to Paris France. It was his wish to be burried in France but it took 25 years after his death for that to happen.
Longwood House and grounds, his tomb, and the Briars are now all Domain of France, (Vive La France)
Well here we are again on the high seas in south Atlantic, winds light so progress is slow. We passed the 10.2 w mark at 11;53, which is directly
south of House at Castlecove. All is well. Avocet
