We sailed from Admiralty Bay just a few miles round the corner to Friendship Bay – planning to anchor there for a couple of days. But after 4 attempts to get our anchor to hold in what must be very rough sand we decided to go back to Admiralty Bay. The trip out was a bit rolly and Oliver didn’t feel at all well and was sick just before we got into the bay. The trip back was  harder and we were motoring into the wind and waves with 25-30 knots of wind. Oliver initially enjoyed steering the boat on Grandad’s knee but as soon as it became more rough he was sick and that conti9nued all the way back (but only about an hour). He didn’t recover too well and was sick when he got up in the morning, so we took him onto dry land where he recovered quickly and ate an enormous breakfast.

So we will rethink our sailing plans for the next move and will put Oliver and Lynn on the fast catamaran ferry service to the next island, Union Island. It’s only a 6 hour trip but we don’t want to put him off sailing altogether. If he enjoys the short1- 2 hour trips we will then do between the Grenadine Islands we will build up to longer trips.
