A short afternoon sail from Marigot Bay down the St Lucia coast and we stopped outside the town of Soufriere at an anchorage called the ‘Bat Cave’ right under the famous ‘Pitons’ mountains. Our boat was very, very close to the cliff and right under the cave where hundreds of bats appeared at dusk. The views of the Pitons were dramatic. Lynn did some snorkelling and Oliver, Wendy and Chris all had a dip in the crystal clear sea before the evening meal. We plan to leave early tomorrow for our first significant sail from here to Bequia in St Vincent and the Grenadines. As that is a different country we had cleared customs and immigration at lunchtime before leaving Marigot Bay, as we have 24 hours to leave St Lucia after clearing out.
