St Lucia First Week

We rented a villa in St Lucia for the arrival of Lynn, Wendy & Oliver in
case Spindrift had not arrived on 9th December when they flew out. In fact
we arrived 2 days later and enjoyed the total luxury of this waterside villa
for the rest of the week. We could almost see Spindrift which was in a
marina berth just round the corner. We had a car as part of the villa rental
so were able to run back and forth with everyone's washing and stock up the
boat with food, etc as well as get out and about a bit.
Neil left after a a couple of days to meet his partner, Linda, at a hotel in
St Lucia where they are having a weeks holiday. Chris flew home overnight to
address a doctors conference the next day (a bit of a culture shock no
doubt). On Friday Ken left the boat and we moved the family out of the villa
and into their long term quarters on Spindrift and turned her back into a
chaotic family boat! It was a bit sad to see the end of the Atlantic
crossing and say goodbye to each of the crew, but the next chapter begins
and we are looking forward to our Caribbean Christmas.
Various jobs to repair equipment are outstanding, particularly the engine
parts that we have ordered and the watermaker so we will be staying in St
Lucia until the New Year.
