Title: Heading West - Day 6 - Arrived Darwin 12 27.109S 130 49.194E

We finally made it, arriving at the anchorage at Fannie Bay in Darwin around lunchtime today. The wind was incredibly light most of the night, so light that down the west coast of Melville and Bathurst Islands it was non existent and the sea was smooth. Being just less than a 100 miles out, the motor went on and stayed on most of the night. Come morning there was a little more wind and the sails went up once more, but as the morning went on, it came more and more on the nose and with a foul tide (they have 7 metre tides up here, so it runs fast at springs), the motor went on again and we motored the last few hours. Overnight was our first use of the motor since leaving Seisia 6 days a go, so we certainly can't complain. We've had some magnificent sailing, with the winds from behind day after day, slight seas, again from behind, and most of the time gloriously sunny days to go with it.

With a noon to noon run for the last 24 hours of 134.9 miles, the total passage distance from Seisia was 850.9 miles, covered in 6 days and 4 hours.
