Title: Flora of Bay of Islands

The woodland is quite lush with lots of tree ferns and other ferns, and lots of other trees that we don't recognise and don't yet know the names of!

The silver fern, the national icon

Paths wind their way through the woodland shaded by the trees and ferns

Another silver fern

The woods are full of these - cicadas and they make a constant din, much louder than any of the tropical islands
we've been to. The odd thing here is that they are out during the day and the sound is just like the buzz you
get from overhead electricity wires, but much louder.

More ferns - new growth
