We have been in Rodney Bay now for a few days and want to stretch our legs a bit and have decided to sail south to Soufriere. There is a bit of a concern about safety as a catamaran was boarded and attacked here in October but the locals here say that it is now okay. The whole area is a national park and should be safe with patrolling wardens. The volcano and sulphur baths are tempting. We will give it a try and if we dont like it we will come back up to Marigot where we know its okay

The whole area is a national marine park from Marigot Bay southwards to Cariabe Pt just after the Gros Piton, and is governed by the Soufriere Marine Management Association (SMMA) who have control on where you can anchor. They have laid numerous bouys to protect the coral from anchor damage
