We finally left Arecife and Marina Lanzarote with still some tasks not completed by the yard - well they only had two months to do it - what did we expect? Past the stone fisherman at the entrance exposed at low water. They like their sculptures in Lanzarote - perhaps the heritage of Manrique - their famous artist and architect who saved them from the blight of high rise blocks in the 80's

It was flat calm - or 'harry flatters' as Great Aunt June would say - as we motored down to the south of Lanzarote to anchor off Playa Papagayo - a rather pleasant white sandy beach near the tourist resort of Playa Blanco. before continuing into Marina Rubicon - finished in 2011 we rather liked its traditional style of modern low rise buildings consisting of hotel, apartments' up market shops and a number of good restaurants. We rather liked the live jazz bar

Whilst we had not particularly like the island of Lanzarote when we first visited it has grown on us and can see that as long as you stay away from the very touristy areas it has some very pleasant parts with some good food and friendly people. We may even come back some day

With that in mind we left at 07:30 for our voyage towards Gran Tarajal on Fuerteventura hoping or a bit (but not too much) more wind than yesterday
