We have spent the last few weeks doing some very gentle motor cruising in the local waters around Lefkas in order to test out all the new systems and also to just 'chill' after all the upsets experienced since our arrival in late April.
We are however now about to set off for Corfu via Prevesa and Paxos so some more serious journeying to look forward to. I actually had a chart out on the table today to measure off the distances and consulted several weather forecast sites to see what is in store for us!
Our stay here has been lovely and we are sad to be leaving the marina and the new friends we have made here. We can't praise the Marina manager Spiros enough for his support and the cafe Porto owners have been stars too! The engineering company Sailand have carried out numerous jobs besides the major work on the keel,skin-fittings and new holding tank and the boss Andreas has been fantastic with advice and help on all sorts of issues. Metronix a local electronics company have also been great with sorting out our portable fridge-freezer and fitting a new inverter as the old one finally gave up the ghost
Finally the town facilities are great - plenty of shops and taverna and all close at hand.
We have re-visited Spartichora, Nidri and Vliho bay and met up with sailing friends for Vliho Yacht Club's famous Sunday roast on 2 occasions. In fact last Sunday 15th we had a Rally Portugal reunion with Mariah (John and Ann) and Lollipop (Sue and Mike)plus our good friends originally from Lagos days June and Steve on Piper.
We have managed to organise to transfer our marina contract to Gouvia on Corfu for the remaining 3 months which means we will be based there to meet friends coming to join us over the next few weeks. We will be leaving Arwen there for a month for our trip back to the UK too.
