Wallace's Sailing Adventure on "Arbella"
Mike and Vicki Wallace

51:29.1N 09:22.7W   Wed. we pulled up anchor and took a very breezy 2 hour  sail to Baltimore Harbor.  Again with the currents and shallow water and 30knt winds,  it was a little"dicy"  to find proper holding for the anchor. Most of the space is taken by mooring balls.   After a couple attempts, we were anchored.  Again we were in the middle of sailing lessons with 25 , 12ft Lasers.  The young teens were squealing and laughing as they tacked among each other in very brisk, cold winds.  I shivered looking at their bare legs.  This was an older more experienced class and while Mike and I sat in the cockpit watching, they took great glee in heading for Arbella to take a peek at "the Yanks" and then at the last minute, tacked to avoid hitting us. It didn't take long for the instructors to shoo them away.  We watched as they raced around buoys and fell in the water, and scrambled onto their center boards to right their boats.  Great, great fun!
