St Jean de Luz arrived 20.8.15 left today 22.8 15
What a place, absolutely fantastic. We arrived on a warm sunny calm afternoon and buoyed in the SE corner near Socoa with the Pyrenees in the background. We swam off the boat in turquoise water, what a trip.
Took the dingy into town and enjoyed cup of coffee and bought Basque specialities for evening meal. Fillet Mignon salami and their cherry pie are amazing.
That night the boat turned into a tumble dryer and full piece orchestra including sheep, twenty types of percussion, electrical fizzing noises, cowbells and wind instruments:  neither of us got much sleep! Next morning S J de L bay was not the place we had sailed into. We did a tour of the bay trying to find a calm spot. In the end we went into the marina. Took the dingy to the NW corner and snorkelled, then over the bay in metre high waves to explore Socoa.  We'll be back.
