Arrival in Liepaja.

We enjoyed a very gentle overnight sail, in calm seas and a starlit sky. As we sail south and July progresses, the nights are getting darker, although throughout there is still clear evidence of the sun below the northern horizon.  Our passage was never more than 5 miles off the Latvian coast, and despite some light patches the continually veering wind enabled good progress.
By dawn Liepaja was clearly visible 10 miles to the South. The entrance was very straightforward, and by 0605 we were secured to a berth near the centre of town. So far, the dock area bears witness to its former status as a major naval base, but now in severe decline. We'll see what's ashore after breakfast...
