Half the crew got the boat under way by 0715, while the other half continued the overnight deckhead inspection. And what a difference to yesterday: absolute calm and bright sunshine. By 0815 we were in the first of the Trolhattan flight of 4 locks, and through them all by 1050. Bonsa! But then around the next corner we were delayed for 55 minutes due to Mr Bridgeman having gone walkabout. Never mind: a couple of hours later we entered relatively open water. So good bye the Gota Alv river, hello Lake Vanern.
We sailed in fickle winds for a couple of hours, before sneaking into a secluded anchorage - this is what it's all about. A thunder shower gave us a good soaking as the pick descended 4m onto gin clear water: there will probably be more of said liquid poured in the cabin in an hour or so.
Tomorrow, onwards towards Sjotorp...
