Monday. We had a superb sail in the brightest conditions imaginable, with a sluicing NE setting tide helping us cover the 30 miles to windward.  Seb had done all the passage planning, and expertly guided Aquila through the notorious Passage du Fromveur before reaching the more open waters NE of Ushant. Hard on the wind throughout, we put in some dozen tacks as we progressed, gradually shortening sail as the wind steadily grew to NE5-6.  And Seb made some superb sandwiches with the boat at 35deg!  With two slabs in the main and six rolls in the genoa we gave Le Four light a respectful clearance, and in what felt like no time at all were soon at the Libenter buoy marking the entrance to L'Aberwrach. And by extraordinary coincidence, Lee Merrick and his crew were also coming in at exactly the same moment! Needless to say, many yarns were subsequently shared in the restaurant!
