Saturday. We weighed before breakfast: fortunately the windlass more or less behaved (due to the depth of water, we had 45m of cable out). Outside, bright conditions, but absolutely no wind for the first 5 hours of the 35m passage to A Coruna; the iron topsail duly earned its keep. But for the last 2 hours we had perfect conditions, giving us a sparkling reach as we rounded Torre de Hercules (the light dates back to Roman times) (phots).
Sunday will be a lay day, giving us time to explore the city. Monday, and it’s crew change day again, so back to chalet duties for the skipper (the Mate says she’s delegated everything to him!).
