On Saturday, with a bitter NNE 5-6 blowing straight across Loch Harport, we decided to move to a more sheltered spot at the northern end of the Loch.  A few shots that give the feel of the place we found:

Ken relaxing once ashore:

Shame about the plies of fishing debris on the forshore:

But a climb to the summit of Dun Beag broch, an Iron Age fort, gave a good perspective.

Our anchorage was to the centre left of this shot, looking west:

In the nearby village of Struan, we fell into an 'interesting' conversation with the elderly couple who ran the garage cum post office.  Clearly the skipper, as an Englishman was not welcome; not sure Ken as a Glaswegian was much more welcome either.   Not the first time the skipper's encountered such overt racism, but it amused us rather than offended.  She was fine, but we don't think he had voted for Margaret Thatcher at any time......

On Sunday, as the forecast is due for easier winds, we will move back to Carbost in order to RV with Peter and Rosalie Steel who will be with us for a few days.  The plan is to sail to Dunvegan on Monday, and spend what is likely to be a wet Tuesday there.
