Aquila has now spent 3 nights here, sheltering from the elements, dhobying the crew and their kit, storing and watering ship, and changing crew.   When we arrived on Saturday, it was a lovely sunny day, so Stuart and the skipper enjoyed exploring this charming little town.  This is the view south, taken from up the hill:

Aquila is in the little marina on the right; a well sheltered spot, and it needed to be for Monday afternoon and night, when the wind blew very hard first from the SE, and after the front had gone through, then from the W.   The picture from the cockpit at teatime was pretty bleak:

but with Herman going and a good meal ashore in the evening, life could have been a whole lot worse.

Stuart had by this time departed (so sad to see him go), and Sarah had arrived (wonderful!) - indeed, they had a brief 5 minute meeting a the Craignure ferry terminal on Sunday afternoon.  And on Tuesday morning, Nicky and Hugh arrived:

So Aquila now has her new crew for the next week's adventure.  Hugh says he can't remember when he was last on a bus!

Tomorrow we plan to sail at a civilised hour (eg. 0400!)  to Loch Drambuie - it's going to be an epic voyage of 4 miles!  Around tea time we will then complete another epic voyage (2 miles this time!) across Loch Sunart to Glenmore Bay for the night - and a 1.5 mile hoof to Glenborrowdale Castle for a meal.  That's the plan anyway.  Thence to Mull, South Uist and Barra - and it looks as thought the weather might be getting better.  Fingers crossed!
