Bank Holiday Monday morning, a rare taste of bright sunshine and the Helford looking its best.  Refreshed we set out for somewhere in Southern Ireland. Wind and tide stayed fair until we rounded Land's End and we then spent 24 hours transiting the southern Irish Sea,with barely seeing another vessel, however, we had dolphins, a large basking shark and a couple of very tired swallows to keep us amused. Heavy rain showers and Force 4 to5 winds necessitated plenty of sail changes, and by the time we arrived off our destination, Skipper was well pleased with how his crew had gelled and we were ready for anything!  Unfortunately, after 24 hrs at sea, we missed our tidal window to enter Kilmore Quay by half an hour.  Hey so what.... lets enjoy another 4 hrs hove too, watching the epic rain showers blast through.  We secured alongside KQ at 1630 and after first shower in 4 days (?) we're enjoying a well earned G&T.   Through the first 4 days of this trip morale has been sustained predominantly by the fantastic meals on board, so a huge thanks to Sarah, for all her culinary goodies.    More challenging weather forecast for the next few days!!!
