JANUARY 2019
We both, Jonathan and I, returned to Aqualuna on the 27th January. We spent the first two nights with friends Zoe and Richard at the villa they are caring for. We had the most amazing views in the morning over Falmouth harbour. Our bedroom was beautiful, the house is built of a slightly pink coral stone so it is all lime flooring and coral stone with a huge bathroom.
We started setting up the yacht ready for our four month cruise. Cleaning inside and out etc.
The forward window, which broke due to a strut being fixed and not floating whilst in the middle of the rally last November, was replaced and looks good. We had dinner out and took Zoe and Richard out for dinner as a thank you for having us to stay.
30th Jan we went to the Quiz night at the AYC with Zoe and Richard and came second out of about 20 groups so we were quite pleased with ourselves.
1st Feb’ we watched Rugby at Cloggy’s a very good game with Ireland against England and the English won!! This kept Jonathan very happy…… we are not doing so well at cricket unfortunately.
I was hoping to get over to the beach but weather has a cool wind and rain squalls but when the sun is out its perfect.
Dinner with Carolyn and Andrew Bellamy from Askari at Catherine’s Cafe which was fun.
Jonathan went off with some of the guys from the TOT club to clear the undergrowth from one of the old forts out on the point beyond Galleon beach.
Dinner at a new restaurant owned by the old manager of Catherine’s Cafe, it was good but I still prefer the setting of Catherine’s cafe.
We will buy food etc. for the yacht when we hope to sail up to Jolly Harbour on Monday.
