Arrived in Vineyard Haven and dropped anchor near Carolyn and Andrew Bellamy’s yacht as they were coming on board for a Lobster feast.  We bought live lobster in Newport see photo below.  The following we morning J and I rented bicycles and cycled over to Oak Bluffs for lunch and to look at the ‘gingerbread houses’ built by the Methodists to replace their summer tent camp back in the 1800s, there is a large meeting tabernacle in the centre of this.  It is very quite and serene and surrounded by pin oaks.  We cycled on to the edge of Edgartown and then back having to go up some hills.  Our thighs and bottoms certainly felt it the next day, but great to get out and exercise.   The following morning we sailed around to Edgartown and dropped anchor just outside the entrance to the harbour.  I could have bought up all the interior design shops, just so much nicer than the ones in the UK.    The architecture of all the ‘Captain’s Houses’ are gorgeous, very Georgian clapper board and so pretty.  Carolyn and Andrew came into the harbour the next day and were followed in by ‘Salperton’  but the later did not stay long.  We explored Edgartown and I took numerous photos of the houses.  We met up with Carolyn and Andrew for dinner at the Edgartown Yacht Club, such a beautiful, friendly club and a delicious gourmet dinner.  The people were lovely stopping to chat to us in the street or just saying ‘Hello’ when walking past.  It was hard to leave, but we have to. We waited for the thick fog to clear this morning, now we are at anchor in Cuttyhunk, quite a remote flat island with lots of rocks around.
