The photos below have gone out of order. The first one should be of the local sailing skiff in Fort de France. It is balanced against the sail by going out on the poles, they are fast and great fun to watch. We arrived in St. Lucia after and met up with Augusto, Mark (the owner), Scott, Patrick and Simon. We had a lovely evening out with them at the Thai restaurant in the marina. The following day they came on board for lunch and then in the evening we went to a very interesting and very well made film about the last family building the traditional wooden boats in Bequie, the money raised by the film towards a charity called ‘Just Sail’ to get the youth of the West Indies interested in boat building, it was lovely to watch and we just hope the craft does not die out. After we went on board ’Spirit of Lusitania’ for dinner which Augusto cooked which was a typical Portuguese dish of fish in a delicious sauce with veg’ and potatoes which was delicious. Photo of us all below decks on their yacht.

We set sail the following morning for Bequie. It was quite an uncomfortable crossing again between St. Lucia and St. Vincent with 6 - 8’ waves on our beam and winds of 20 -25 knots, once we got behind St. Vincent the wind died so it was a bit of a motor until we reached the other end of the island then the easterly got up again and we zoomed across to Bequie averaging 9 knots. We arrived in Admiralty Bay, Bequie in full moon light, see photo below the other photo shows a rainbow which appeared just after we left St. Vincent and squalls were passing by, also one of The Pitons which we passed as we sailed down the coast of St. Lucia.
