We motored and sailed when we could having weighed anchor at 7 am to sail north up to the island of CATA LADA.  The wind was much stronger in the anchorage this time so it was not as beautiful or comfortable as last time we were there.  We spent the night and left early the next morning for TURKABUKA (the St. Tropez of Turkey)  up market bohemian.  Antonia had read about it before coming to Turkey so it was on their wish list.  We went ashore and browsed the shops before coming back to the yacht for a swim. Georgia, Kate and Ants had organised a cocktail time on board with Champagne and      which was huge fun.  In the evening we went to a restaurant we had booked in advance the week before and had a delicious dinner and then on to their open air night club where we ‘girls’ had fun dancing and even at one point got Jonathan on to the floor…  Antonia took us back to the yacht at 3 a.m. they eventually returned at about 4.30 am. when the club closed.
The next day we sailed up to GUVERNCINLIK  where we found Georgie a taxi to take her to the airport as she had to be back at school to teach.

The following morning we sailed on to ASIN LIMANI, where we swam, paddle boarded and invited two couples, who were on a yacht anchored near ours and flying the Royal Thames Burgee, for drinks at 6.30 pm.  They were Peter and Pru Innes-Ker the yacht name was RESOLUTION) it turned out they had lived in Hong Kong and left in 1979 and were members of the RHKYC. Lots of chat and catch up.  Dinner ashore at a fish restaurant and then back to their yacht for post dinner drinks.

We sailed back south to the area called THE AQUARIUM so that the girls could make the most of their last day before we headed to Bodrum.  They were amazing and helped me clean the yacht below decks in the morning and make up the bunks for the arrival of our friends that evening.

Below are photos of Kate cleaning the forward cabin with the Dyson which she is posing with as gun!  and sailing the yacht under Jonathan’s supervision.
They left us to get a taxi to the airport at 6 p.m..  We will miss all three of them they were such good fun to have on board.

Before they left, Diana and Dieter Sellmeyer arrived at midday from S. Africa it was great that Diana was able to see Antonia again as they had not dseen her since Antonia visited S. Africa 18 years ago.  David D’Kantzow came back to join us for lunch and dinner that evening and stayed on to see the arrival of Sam and Gilly McBride at 11.30 pm, at the restaurant.  Back to the yacht for drinks and chat before David had to leave to get some sleep before he flew out a 6 am the following morning.  Sam and Gilly had no idea he was coming to see them so it was a lovely surprise.  David is hanging around Europe for a few months and may well join us for the sail from Gibraltar to the Canaries.

We now have Sam and Gilly and Diana and Dieter on board for a week.  Having done our food shopping this morning at the market and sorted it and the last of our canvas work done in Bodrum we set sail south to meet up with Simon and Jo Davies and Mike and Debbie Gray who are chartering a yacht.
