Title: Isla Caja del Muertos

17:53.2N 66:31.8W

Caja del Muertos, roughly translated “coffin island” looks more like a corpse than a coffin as you approach it.  But putting aside the unfortunate name, it is a beautiful place to spend a couple of days.  The anchorage has clear turquoise water, reminiscent of the Bahamas, and there are well-maintained walking trails on the island.  You can visit the 19th century lighthouse, built by the Spaniards shortly before Puerto Rico was taken over by the Americans.
