Title: Hawksbill Cay

24:27.9N 76:46.1W

Hawksbill Cay is at the heart of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park.  There are lots of mooring buoys laid out along the shore but they were completely deserted all the time we were there.

We took the tender into the beach to explore the island and then snorkelled the rocks by the anchorage.

Miles of shoreline with no-one else around

The entire island is criss-crossed with intricate patterns

We thought it might be this guy, but he leaves no trail

Finally we found the culprit, a lizard with a very long dragging tail

Possibly the most badly located mooring ball in the world?

Andrea got some good photos of shells while snorkelling.  This is a Flamingo Tongue.

And a big Helmet shell.  Did you know the helmet shell eats sea urchins?
