After searching in vain for the lost fender, we reach across Palma Bay heading for San Jordi - recommended by Steph as one of the best beaches on the Island with a Carribean feel.

Paul and Francesca take turns on the helm, both getting the hang of it very quickly. The wind is up and down and we motor to put on some miles. The bay is deceptively wide. 25 Nautical miles to go and we want to arrive in time for snorkling.

We had anchored at San Jordi a few years ago, on one of our early trips with Charles and Caroline, and had no particular memories of the scenery. This time, perhaps because we were arriving earlier in the afternoon, and skirting the shoreline more from the North, the water was spectacular. Over a sandy bottom it had a beautiful green blue tropical colour and we could see why Steph had recommended it.

We anchored well off-shore. There were quite a few jelly fish in the water, so snorkling was postponed in favour of a ride ashore to the attractive looking beach bar.

A beer at the first bar was spoiled a little by a Thai girl who insisted in standing in the way of the view while she spoke on the telephone. It wouldn't have been too bad, but her choice of thong bikini bottoms, and her decision not to wear a top distracted greatly from the sea view. Her boyfriend seemed highly unsuitable for her - being approximately twice her age and four times her weight.

Anyway, I digress. We moved on to a second bar. The girls walked along the beach, past another beach wedding, while Paul and I enjoyed a romantic row along the shore. Beers for the boys, Sangria for the girls and burgers all round, as we enjoyed yet another beautiful sunset.

Dinghy back to the boat and to round off a very enjoyable day we watch a couple of episodes of Black Adder.
