39:23.63N 000:54.89E Mike (S): Today is my Birthday. there are 'Happy 60th' stickers and
banners everywhere, and ginormous card saying 'Hey Matey! - have ye a brilliant
day - arrrgh harrrh! (and inside .. or you will have to walk the plank) -
 Tim baked an amazing birthday cake:
 and Mike L has been up in the early hours before my trip rsearching
those little things which make retirement so pleasurable (apparently). He
has assembled all the forms for my free bus pass and given me a proper sized Red
Ensign. On a serious note, I am overwhelmed, its a memorable day. I
am in mobile range, and pick up Happy Birthday texts from Lynne, Alison and
Family (more celebrations planned, please no further bus pass application
necessary).
 I open my final present, a bottle of Piper H. Not something we will
drink now ( we stay 'dry' on passage), but certainly something to enjoy in the
Canaries, celebrate our arrival, and spur on our venture. Only 1000miles to
go.
