We sat out a few very windy days in Culebra in various anchorages including the small islands to the east and west. We walked to a more distant beech for a bit of exercise and got absolutely soaked in a torrential downpour, but the rain was warm and we soon dried out. The beech was stunning and was home to a couple of old WWII tanks. The Americans used this island for many years as a gunnery range and some of the aftermath is still evident. Why mess up your own land as a gunnery range when you can spoil someone elses beautiful island?

We then sailed to Vieques and spent a few nights there. We anchored just outside the (allegedly) one the worlds three brightest bio luminescent bays. We waited until it was pitch black and then ventured into the remote bay and it came to life every time the water was disturbed. It was a bit like the intro to a Disney film. We tried to photograph it but it just doesn't work. Well worth the effort to visit.
