AJAYA'S CRUISE
Phil & Nikki Hoskins
Tue 17 Mar 2009 18:03
All ok onboard. Clear skies, sunny and tropically warm. Water temp now 27 degrees C. After a frustrating night trying to keep the boat moving in 5 knts of breeze in a sloppy swell we now have 10-12 knts on the s/b beam and are making better progress. Loaf of bread (we had to throw the cut loaf we bought in Mindelo away) and chocolate cake produced by the head chef this morning and we were then joined by a large pod of Atlantic Spotted dolphins that leapt around at the bow for 30 mins, the young flinging themselves clear of the water in their excitement or maybe just showing off. Their presence and playful activities however, meant we had little chance of catching any fish so both lures remain streaming the stern remain untouched by anything remotely edible. Where's that shoal of Amberjacks when you need one?
