The butter has melted. Now just north of Cape Verde archipelago and this is our last chance to turn back before making the jump to hyperspace. Clearly for Kirk there would be only one decision but for us mear mortals there is a decision to be made so it is time for a systems status check: propulsion, go: provisions, go (enough to feed Mauritania for a week); radio comms, go; sat comms, go (but expensive); fuel, go; power generation, qualified go (generator still smoking); water, go; crew, go (I think). So there it is, all systems go and we can manage without the generator. Bye bye East Atlantic.

For you nautical types we are currently sailing 240 with two reefs in the main and the inner staysail making 7+ knots in 27-30knots of Easterly and a heavy swell. Boat is fine and for the crew all those weeks of hard training to improve core stability are proving their worth!

Providing we don’t crash into Cape Verde we will now head west.

Will we meet Indians (red)??, will any wheels fall off the wagon?? Will we keep the freezer going without a generator???

We will of course keep you posted....
