Title: Azores to UK - Almost home

14.07:12, 49:24.79N 6:26.69W

For the past 24 hours we have perfect wind – force 4 on the beam, and we have been making some great progress averaging about 7 knots.  The sun has been shining and it’s been pretty warm – which is nice after some of the rain and drizzle we had a few days ago.

All of this sailing again has had its casualties, this afternoon we were making a vegetable tart with cheese/mustard sauce type filling.  All was calm for a while so I had measured out the milk then got distracted and went out to talk to Adam, it took about 1 minute before a wave hit and the milk covered most of the galley, lots of mopping up and swearing – you would think I would have learnt by now really. ; Still, the tart is very nice.

Good job we’re nearly back as we are having to ration t-bags which is terrible – I think we will last so we can have one cup of tea each when we get in.

We expected more shipping / fishing boats so far – but there haven’t been loads as yet, just a few fishing boats yesterday over by where the depth drops into Ocean.  Looks like we’re going to arrive at Falmouth by night or first light of morning, but it is fine to get into as it is a big harbour.  Just 70 miles to go now – Hurray.
