Some better progress this afternoon with some light wind back again, engine still on but at least we are getting some lift from the sails as well.

We topped up the fuel tank this morning from the cans strapped to the deck – whilst we have been going slow, we haven’t used much fuel, only just under a quarter of our reserves in the past 3 days.
Spoke to Stokey today – sounds like we should be out of the light winds by Tuesday and back to normal sailing again, and at least we are expecting to keep the light winds for the next couple of days to carry us further north and out of the high pressure.  The good news is that we are in a narrow channel about 100 or so miles wide of light winds – to the west and east of us is nothing at all so we are in the best position given the weather.

Tomorrow at least we get to celebrate doing half the miles of the journey – it will probably take us longer than another week to get to the Azores, but at least  we are only down to 1100 miles to go with nearly 1000 behind us this evening.
